spring and summer
This tough little Lomandra has a very fine texture, which from a distance gives it the
appearance of a Native Tussock Grass (Poa labillardieri). Unlike Poa, this plant will generally
not need trimming. Its blue appearance provides a nice contrast to other plants. Wingarra is
slightly slower to establish than other Lomandra, so in cooler climates, larger size pots are
helpful. In warmer climates, more options are available. Check with your local grower. It is
drought and frost tolerant. It needs much less trimming, and is much less likely to brown off in
summer and winter. No Irrigation required once established in most populated areas of
Australia. Water well for the first 12 weeks until established. Wingarra is an Australian native
and is often used on roadside plantings, where it performs and looks great, with no irrigation
only natural rainfall. In dry climates or severe drought occasional top up of water will result in
better looking plants.
